Vacuum and pressure impregnation ensures deep and even saturation of the wood with wood preservatives in a shorter time
1. the wood is placed in a sealed chamber
2. a vacuum is created, which removes the air from the wood cells
3. the chamber is flooded with wood preservative
4. high pressure is created, forcing the preservative into the wood structure
5. finally, vacuum is generated again to solidify the impregnating agent in the wood
The system worked until it was dismantled; some of the controls and electrics need to be replaced
